VICKI STANSFIELD
Vicki found her passion for dance at the age of nine, and by age 12 was performing at the children’s ballet (Blackpool Tower Ballroom). Her early career led her to perform professionally in summer seasons and pantomimes around the country, where upon she met Mr. Stansfield at the Bradford Alhambra. In 1975 they married, set up home in Wakefield, and founded Victoria Stansfield School of Dance, while Vicki continued to dance for Wakefield Theatre Club in it’s heyday for a further three years.
Vicki was made an examiner before the age of 30, and has enjoyed being a senior examiner for the past 40 years. As faculty chair of Theatre Craft, Vicki has contributed to the completion of new grades and major syllabi.
Having won several Theatre Awards, Vicki takes pride in the schools' ongoing success at the annual competition held in Manchester. The participants of which are chosen from thousands of students from around the country.
Vicki also enjoys training the next generation of many teachers in the region. She feels lucky to have had her purpose built studio in her own premises for the last 36 years.
A highlight for Vicki and the school came in 2019 when student Grace Hawksworth become Miss Dance Winner 2019.
As well as running her busy dance school, Vicki enjoys spending quality time with her two sons and grandchildren.
MISS ADELLE
Miss Adelle started dancing with Vicki at the age of three and has continued to teach along side her for the past 30 years. As a valuable member of the team, she brings a huge amount of creativity and has choreographed some of our most celebrated performances, including Miss Dance 2019 winner.
Miss Adelle is also a fellow of the IDTA and a member of the RAD.
Today Miss Adelle leads several classes including RAD intermediate and has most recently started an acrobatics class at her own school in Outwood.
MISS LUCIE
Lucie first came to the school to further her dance teaching qualifications and has most recently completed her fourth fellowship in Theatre Craft with a distinction of 97.16 years on, Lucie continues to lead classes at the school, including intermediate and advanced modern, jazz and tap. She aspires to develop her training even further and hopes to reach examining status in the not too distant future.
